Of Smiles and Laughter

As I was trying to clean my laptop and get rid of useless documents, I came across this .pdf file and all of a sudden, everything came back to me.

It was the SS3 Manila Fanchant Compilation. The one I compiled as a contribution to the activities and projects dedicated to Super Junior during Super Show 3 Manila. I felt nostalgic all of a sudden. Well, I guess that can’t be helped. After all, it’s one of the most useful – as I’ve seen it – things I’ve done for them.

As I look back on the past, I realized that somehow, I managed to do something. Somehow, I got to compensate for what I failed to do when they first went here for SS2. And I think I did a good job this time.

I remember the pressure that compilation gave me. Truth is I had to quit my job to fully concentrate on that. HAHA! I know it’s absurd but I managed to give back to myself anyway. I am currently employed and I think it’s the best work. So somehow, we can say that this compilation was of help to me.

Before I go random, I just want to thank again those who made use of the SS3 Manila Compilation. It’s not too much of a project but I am really, really overjoyed when I saw many of you guys holding it, reviewing it and sharing it to your friends. You see, it’s the only thing that can prove me that I succeeded. And I have all of you to thank.

As we all know, SS3 Manila was a huge success. It was a great experience for all of us and for Super Junior as well. Up to now, I can’t still get over the fact that the fanchants became useless because we actually sang the songs. It was downright hilarious but you see, it’s what made us all proud. And I hope, I really do hope, that somehow, behind the sing-along experience, my compilation did something.

What the fuck is happening with me? I’m laughing on my own reminiscing that night. And just now I realize, I should have brought a copy of the compilation had I known that I will be stalking the boys at the hotel and I’ll be seeing Heechul and Henry up-close. HAHAHA!

Oh, don’t mind me. This happens when I remember something great and Super Junior’s ANGEL is playing on the background.

To Set It Straight…

First and foremost, I didn’t fucking compare. All I said was Heenim (and the rest of the boys) were treated like royalties in Manila. AND I AM SERIOUS WHEN I SAID THAT! I wish I really could tell you how it was for SS2 and SS3 but I can’t because I don’t have permission to do so.

Now, please be wary. I wouldn’t control myself. For this once, I will just say here whatever I want to say. Hurt those who will get hurt, I would not give a damn and be nice.

Heenim got hurt and it’s human instinct that sent us all looking for someone to blame. Personally, I needed someone to take full responsibility of what happened because I want justice. I sound obsessive and fucking exaggerated, I know, but considering that I did everything I can to please Kim Heechul when he came to Manila even though Leeteuk should have been my first priority, I know I needed justice.

Now, if you will insist that I am comparing Manila to other countries and I’m being particular with Chinese ELF, I ask you: WHY THE FUCK WOULD I DO THAT? Backtrack my tweets! Even in the midst of some international ELF hating on the Philippines because the boys loved us, I announced that it will still be nothing compared to Shanghai’s encore.

Actually, that was fucked up. And it will forever fuck up my thoughts about some areas of this fandom.

Others are right. Why are we getting divided? Whatever happened in Shanghai and in other countries are all isolated cases. Just so you know, I saw Kyuhyun got hit by a plushie in the Philippines too. But he wasn’t hurt. I doubt if he even felt it. It wasn’t intentional after all.

Just the same, I know the fan who threw it did not mean it. (Unless, the picture I saw proves it otherwise.) Again, I am still giving her the benefit of the doubt. Though an attention-seeking fan misled us all by posting an ‘apology’ on Baidu, I am sure that whoever really did that is sorry.

Now, to save my sanity, let me say a few things. I couldn’t promise that these would be the last, though. Gifts are given to please, not to fucking hurt. I know how eager we all are to make our boards be seen by the boys but please, let’s give it to them the right way. We don’t have to push too far and end up ruining the night of the boys. It was a HANCHUL board and I suppose we all want him to see whatever that has Geng on it. But again, there’s a right way for everything.

The desire to throw things cannot be denied for I, myself, have felt it too. During SS2, I wasn’t able to bring anything. I was so envious when I saw SJ members picking up gifts thrown by the fans. So on SS3, I wanted to make an impression. I brought plushies and stuffs. I threw them on stage but I made sure it wouldn’t hurt them.

Oh, I just remembered. I threw a heart plushie on Heechul. He kicked it, probably thinking he could catch it by doing so. But when he couldn’t, he let it go.

Fine, enough of the reminiscing.

I am not coming clean. I didn’t say Manila was the perfect stop because nothing could beat Seoul. I may appear like a know-it-all but please, take care of the boys.

It’s Gonna Be Worth It

I have just finished compiling the fan chants for Super Show 3 Manila. Pure effort, this is. I have to admit that it gave me so much headache as I had to watch videos and fancams repeatedly, just so I can be sure of the chants. For others which are not clear, I had to come up with my own (which I know is very assuming because it’s like dictating Philippine ELF of what to do.)

So to cut the story short, pages are up. What we all just have to do now is to learn it all by heart. Please.

I know it requires you all great effort. Instead of just preparing ourselves for the surprises and just enjoying the show on our own, we have to participate in these fan chants (and fan projects, as well.) But as I have said, this is a responsibility which we receive when we bought that concert ticket. This is a way of letting SJ know that we take part with the concert preparations and we are in that party.

It’s gonna take much of your time studying and memorizing these chants. But I tell you, it’s all worth it.

Because none can ever compare to the feeling of being one with the boys and our fellow ELF. None can really compare with the self-satisfaction these chants give while being a part of the Sapphire Blue Ocean. It completes the experience. It gives off much joy and love.

So please, let’s all participate on this. Let’s all make it memorable and let’s make it all happen. Don’t come to the party unprepared. Give yourself the chance to enjoy more than you know you could. ^^

Just A Little Sacrifice

Super Show 3 Manila is pushing through. There’s no turning back and we’re definitely making it happen.

Being someone who has friends in SUJU-Mad, I am terribly excited that I just can’t contain it. On February 26, 2011, Araneta will once again be turned into the magical world that it was like on April this year.

We’re going to see the boys again and we are making sure that it’s going to be DAEBAK.

But all the good things come with little sacrifices. After all, life has a give-and-take rule. We receive joy, then we should give back some as well.

PROJECTS.

I think I have made it clear before that participating in the fan projects prepared for the boys is the only way we could give back to the joy they’ve been giving us since day one. It’s a way of saying ‘Thank You’ to them for sticking up with each other and with us for the past five years.

It’s the only way to touch their hearts.

My message is simple: WE HAVE TO JOIN THE FAN PROJECTS.

This should be an unbreakable rule.  I don’t care if you’re old or new in the fandom. I don’t care where you’re sitting and who you’re coming with. I don’t care if you’re just there for the bragging right of having seen Super Junior up-close.

Just as long as you participate in the projects.

It’s a little sacrifice we’re compelling everyone to do. Please help us in making it happen for the boys, even for the last time. Please.

Super Show 3 Manila: The Realization of Dreams

When I read Ms. Happee’s Facebook status saying that we are actually lucky because though we’re in a third-world country, we still manage to get them here, I told myself: “We’re not just lucky. We’re actually one of the luckiest.”

If you haven’t noticed yet, we are the only country with just one date for a concert. Japan has three. The others have two. I actually have no idea if Malaysia will be pushing through…

Okay. So though I didn’t hear it, I know most of you are saying it’s unfair – one thing that’s completely ridiculous that all of you who have thought of it should just give their tickets to someone else or if you don’t have one, then just get lost.

Geez, people… It’s not unfair.

Having a Super Show 3 concert in Manila even just for a night is something that we all should be grateful for. It’s a blessing. It’s a dream come true. For a night, Super Junior will be with us and it is enough to create memories which are worth keeping for a lifetime.

More than the envy towards the ELF in other countries, I’m more feeling flattered. Indeed, we are a third-world country and nobody expected us to be in the list. But look, we’re there, and we’re making sure that it’s going to be DAEBAK.

THUS, WE ALL SHOULD COME AS ONE, THIS TIME. ENOUGH OF THE STUPID COMPETITION AMONG FANS, ENOUGH OF THE HATES AND DEMANDS, ENOUGH OF THE PRIDE AND EVERYTHING THAT GOES WITH IT… WE SHOULD ALL GET UNITED. WE SHOULD ALL BELIEVE THAT WE CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN, HAND IN HAND.

Honestly, I am really awed with the preparations for Super Show 3 Manila. The organizers have worked so hard to bring the boys back again and are continuously being so generous to cater all our needs and wishes. SUJU MAD (JJANG!) is really devoted in promoting the fan projects which will be done in Araneta during the concert.

WHY NOT TAKE PART?

You know what, people? A few cannot make it perfect on just their own. We need your help. We need your cooperation. Super Show 3 Manila is not just an ordinary concert wherein you go to the venue, sit on your seat, shout if you want and leave once it’s finished.

Super Show 3 Manila is a realization of the dreams of so many people.

So please, do not spoil it.

Enough of the Complains, ELF~

Apparently, there are still many people who do not understand what fandom is.Specifically speaking, many still do not comprehend what being an ELF means.

I am terribly disappointed.

I was browsing through Ms. Happee’s page on Facebook and I can’t help but get annoyed with acouple of comments complaining about the tickets, the prices, the reservations, and everythingthere is which can be talked about.

This is way too much.

I wonder where the hell do these people get the nerves to complain. It’s very comparable to thathater. Many are saying things are unfair or things should be like this, and should not be likethat…

WTF IS WRONG WITH ALL OF YOU? WHAT DO WE ALL KNOW?

Yes, the changes on the information can be quite confusing. Especially for those who aren’t really keeping up with the announcements. I understand the feeling because as the one who compiled the SS3 Manila updates, I get confused at times too.

But hey, I don’t remember myself complaining this much.

Me, along with my friends? Yes, we have questions. We post reactions. But that’s just it. We didn’t take the toll of really posting something hurtful on the organizers’ page. Really. I can’t take even just thethought of it.

Because you know what? We pay respect to the people who made it happen for all of us.

Call me a leech or whatever you want. I am protecting the characteristic of a real ELF from people who would want to intervene and ruin its name – people who ride the bandwagon and callthemselves SJ’s number one fan right ahead.

LOL guys. Being an ELF is not just because Super Junior members are heavenly handsome. THERE’S MORE TO THAT THAT EACH NEW FAN SHOULD UNDERSTAND.

One thing. If this ticketing procedure annoys you, What more if your questions don’tget answered? If you find everything the organizers do unfair, what do you call your constant demanding for your interests to be served?

I don’t know if these people will understand but there are a lot of real fans who are doing everything they can to fill Araneta Coliseum come February 26, 2011. They exert real effort that some would even take a leave to get this done.

There are people who are doing everything they can to give Super Junior the bests of what they deserve.

So please. If you are disappointed because you wouldn’t get the best seats; or if you are upset because somebody is being catered before you, jump off the bandwagon. NEVER CALL YOURSELF AN ELF.

Because if you do, you’re merely bringing disgrace.

Understanding the Legalities of Company Subsidiaries

As defined by the Corporation Code of the Philippines, a subsidiary is ‘one in which control, usually in the form of ownership of majority of its shares, is in another corporation, called the parent corporation.’ In simpler terms, it is identified as another business entity created by a larger business entity without the intention of defrauding the law.

Ordinary people gets confused, most of the time, with the existence of a subsidiary. Many question its legality especially when it is not recorded, per se, in the books of the government agencies.  So to spare people from doubts, the Philippine Corporation Code provides a checklist which states the characteristics of a subsidiary:

1. The capital stocks of a subsidiary company are owned by the parent corporation. In simpler terms, the parent corporation OWNS the subsidiary company.
2. The parent corporation and the subsidiary company are governed and run by the same set of board directors/officers. Since it is the directors of a parent corporation who decide on the establishment of a subsidiary company, it is just natural that they become the same officials of the latter.
3. Subsidiary is financed by the parent corporation. All the expenses of the subsidiary company are shouldered by the parent corporation.
4. The capital of a subsidiary company is inadequate. Since the amount of capital given to a subsidiary company is limited, it is the parent corporation’s responsibility to provide for it.
5. All properties which belong to a subsidiary company may be used by the parent corporation. All assets procured under the name of the subsidiary company are owned by the parent corporation as well, giving the latter all the rights to use it.
6. In the company documents of the parent corporation, the name of the subsidiary should come as a department or division of the bigger entity. A description of the subsidiary should also be included in the paper.
7. All directors of the subsidiary cannot act independently.Since they rely most on the directors and officers of the parent corporation, they have to wait for the seniors before acting.
8. It is not a requirement that the formal legal requirements of the subsidiary are observed. Contrary to what others believe, it is not important for a subsidiary company to keep all records in order to prove its legality. Proving it legitimate is the parent corporation’s responsibility.

Through the abovementioned characteristics, it can be easily understood that the Philippines honor the subsidiary company as a dependent entity to its parent corporation. As long as it is not used for fraudulent activities, it is honored as legitimate.

To further understand, it is best that one consult Filipino lawyers whose field of specialization is on corporate laws. That way, all matters and concerned will be professionally dealt with.

Indeed, I do not know anything about the law. But like Heechul, I know what is right and what is wrong. :)

Reserved or Rejected?

The reservation for the best seats is finally off. Officially, VVIP and VIP tickets are sold out in a few hours. Awesome for me.

However, it is just so disappointing to see many “ELF” posting stupid rants and hates on Ms. Happee’s page. It has become annoying, especially those people who feels like they’re indeed very special people that the organizers should prioritize. And to my extreme humor, some even involved their parents on the process. Yes, there are some who ‘lectured’ Ms. Happee about what to do.

DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT LIFE IS THAT EASY?

I understand the frustration. I understand the stress. BUT YOU’VE GOT TO UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY PERSON ON EARTH. There are like a thousand PhELF trying to get through the hotline and only 500 seats are available. Don’t think that just because you have the money to pay, you should be there. Don’t think that just because you are the customer, you have all the rights to post RUDE comments on Ms. Happee’s page and demand everything like you’re one important person in this world.

RESPECT.

At least give some respect to the person who made it possible to bring Super Junior here. What fuels this anger more is the fact that some ‘ELF’, or how they would like to think themselves to be, said that they wouldn’t watch the concert anymore. LOL. HOW CHILDISH. And how dare you call yourselves ELF if you’re like that?

Indeed, the bandwagon is rolling. I hate it, though.

Look, we’ve been trying to make this concert sold out. We’ve been trying to make history. But above it all, WE ARE TRYING TO PLEASE SUPER JUNIOR. Because believe it or not and as what Korean ELF would want us all to understand is that WE SHOULD GO THERE NOT TO SEE THEM, BUT FOR THEM TO SEE US.

I know we all need to see them up-close and we need to touch them. I am a hypocrite if I say I don’t like that. But their joy will always be my first priority. After all and as Ms. Happee said, it doesn’t matter where we are during the concert; as long as we are there.

There are a lot of other options. Araneta Coliseum has space for 8000 people (without the gen-ad area, I believe) and we can always settle for the second best.

Actually, the reservation this year is much more organized than before. For SS2, we were told to send emails. That’s more stressing because they wouldn’t reply unless they count us in. We didn’t have ideas to tell us that we didn’t make it to the list. The torture was greater, seriously.

Here’s the catch: Sometimes, we just have to be contented with what we have. To those who will be seating in the VVIP/VIP areas, congratulations! You guys are the luckiest people ever. And to those who didn’t, settle for the second best. SVIP is great too. ^^

And to those who know nothing but whine and hate, stop it. You’re not making any sense. Please, pay some respect to someone we all owe a lot to.

A Promise to Henry and ZhouMi

I have seen your efforts on reaching out to the only 13 people, I have witnessed your heartaches and pains, I have read your despairs about what’s happening.

And I don’t understand why they’re doing this.

My heart broke into pieces when I saw the picture of you just watching near a PD, while the Kyuhyun was happily playing with that fire extinguisher. I assume that’s in Shanghai. But wherever it is, I’m telling you, it hurts.

You know why? Coz you and Mimi do not deserve to be treated this way. You both have your individual talents which I know is incomparable among other members and you’re the best people for this team.

Then I remember SS2 Manila. You were the happiest. Both of you surprised us actually. It was the first time I saw you get that close to your fans. It was the first time I saw Mimi do a solo. It was the first time I saw you interact with your brothers with an authentic smile drawn on your face.

Do you guys have any idea how overwhelming that was?

Seriously, I want to thank you both for staying strong until the very end of Super Show 2. Because if you didn’t, you wouldn’t have known that the Philippines accept you and we wouldn’t have had an idea that we can actually make you happy.

Now, in a few months, you’ll be here again. We’ll be hearing from the both of you again, and I wish whatever that we saw you doing during SS2, we’ll see you again doing on February.

After all, we love you. And whatever you do, whatever you say, we’ll accept you wholeheartedly.

And I promise that in every Super Show in Manila, we’ll be supporting you. No matter what. :)
